WE ARE THE BEST! is Lukas Moodysson’s adaptation of his wife Coco’s graphic novel about three young misfits growing up in early ‘80s Stockholm. Mohawk-sporting Klara and her best friend Bobo are 13-year-old rebels who, despite having no musical ability, put all their energy into forming an all-girl punk band. With tender affection for his young characters, Moodysson paints an ebullient portrait of youth.
