The groundbreaking artist Pat Steir has been at the forefront of American painting for half a century, and her professional and personal lives have intersected with those of many of the most influential artists and poets of her generation. This intimate, revelatory portrait was shot over the course of three years, primarily in Steir’s home and studio. Enlivened by a visually poetic style and the clear affection between filmmaker and subject, the film offers a profound look into the life of an artist.

Followed by a Q&A with director Veronica Gonzalez Peña and artist Pat Steir. Tickets are available at Princeton Garden Theatre. Free to Princeton University students with a valid ID. A reception at the Museum will follow.
