The Committee for Film Studies announces the second iteration of the “Thinking Cinema” lecture series for the 2018-19 academic year.
The five part year-long series will host some of the most provocative thinkers of media archaeologies, cinematic affects, race and digital media and experimental cinema.
This year we welcome the following speakers:
October 16, 2018: Yuriko Furuhata
November 29, 2018: Laura U. Marks
March 12, 2019: Rey Chow
April 4, 2019; Lisa Nakamura
April 30, 2019: Erika Balsom
The first series brought to campus an eclectic range of speakers whose research interests span temporal and regional frames but who share a commitment to critical film and media analysis. Read about the 2017-18 series here.
